Dana and Hank Gruber make up this instrumental duo of mountain dulcimer and acoustic guitar. Their music is a blend of contemporary and traditional favorites, along with some original tunes. Their unique arrangements explore the contemporary side of the mountain dulcimer, which is usually thought of as a traditional instrument. They have been performing as a duo since 1997. They discovered the mountain dulcimer at an Appalachian festival and have been hooked ever since! Their musical background and training goes back a ways. Hank has played guitar for a number of years and Dana played classical piano beginning as a child and on into adulthood. They have both always enjoyed a wide variety of music and now try to include that same variety in their performances. |

The dulcimer is a fretted stringed instrument that is strummed while holding it in your lap. The music is in the form of tablature (numbers, not notes) and is easy to learn. The dulcimer is one of the fastest growing instruments in popularity.
